Robert Lon Apps, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026.
Born on December 1, 1948, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, service, adventure, and devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the Air National Guard for 22 years before continuing his career in government service until his retirement.
Robert was an avid bicyclist and fitness enthusiast who valued staying active and embracing life's adventures. He found great joy in camping, traveling, and exploring new places, but his greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved most. Whether sharing stories around a campfire, enjoying family gatherings, or encouraging others through his example, Robert touched the lives of many with his strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Kay Apps.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Buddle and her husband, Kevin; his son, Brian Apps; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Ranum, Allison Ranum, and Jacob Ranum. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service honoring Robert's life and service will be held on July 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Robert's legacy of service, perseverance, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
