Obituary

Robert Arnold “John” Johnigan was born in Galveston, Texas, on October 30, 1929, the youngest of seven children. His family later moved to Beaumont, Texas, where he was educated in the Texas school system and within the military structure.

Upon graduating from high school, John joined the United States Army for a short period before continuing his service in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 22 years. His military career included tours of duty throughout Europe, Libya, England, and Hawaii. He also served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, John earned a degree from Laramie Community College. He went on to work for the State of Wyoming and the United States Postal Service. Throughout his career, John was honored with numerous awards for his dedication and service.

John was extremely active in his church, Saints Constantine and Helen, where he served as a board member and President of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.

John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Irene; his daughter-in-law, Debra; his brother-in-law John Manelis; his granddaughter, Jennifer Marie; and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his son Charles (Bob).

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 5, 2026, beginning at 1:30pm at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He will be Interred following the service at Beth El with Full Military Honors; and a Trisagion will occur at the cemetery.
