Obituary

Roland (Ron) Eugene Butler II was born on December 24th, 1936 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Roland Eugene Butler (Father) and Thelma Mae Butler (Mother), and passed away peacefully in his Cheyenne home on July 31st, 2026. He was 89.


He moved to Westminster, Colorado as a young boy and graduated from Westminster High School in 1955 before proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps until he was honorably discharged in 1958. He moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming around 1999.


He loved attending the Cheyenne Frontier Days and was a proud member of the Centennial Antique Tractor Club. One of his favorite past times was enjoying coffee and donuts and conversing with Vanny Leas at her donut shop. He also loved grabbing a beer (or margaritas) and a bite to eat with his best friend/housemate, Mike Tuttle. Ron had a lot of friends and left long lasting memories.


He is survived by His son, Roland Nicholas Butler (Denisha Roberts), and his adopted son Thomas James Butler; His three Grandkids; Ryleigh Norie Butler; Travis Lee Roberts; and Nicholas George Roberts (and family). His brother, Nicholas (Jean) Butler and sister, Wanda Butler in Colorado; and his nephews, James Butler, Jay Butler (and Family), and niece, Jayme Butler (and Family); and his best friend, Mike Tuttle.


He was preceded in death by his Parents.


Services will be held at Church of the Holy Trinity (1808 Hot Springs Ave. Cheyenne, WY.) on Thursday September 10th, 2026 at 10:30 AM; Please join family and friends for mass, followed by a reception.
