Rosalind “Roz” Berry
The world has lost a remarkable soul with the passing of Rosalind Berry, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on November 22, 1952, in Loveland, Colorado, Rosalind's life journey was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and unwavering passion.
Rosalind began her academic pursuits with rodeo scholarships that took her to Oklahoma and northern Colorado. She eventually went on to earn her Master's degree in English Literature from University of Wyoming. Her career path led her to become a teacher for 31 years, a profession she embraced wholeheartedly. Though she initially ventured into teaching for the advantage of summers off for rodeo events, Rosalind discovered a deep-seated love for educating young minds. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, as countless students fondly remember her as "the teacher who shaped their futures."
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rosalind excelled in various hobbies and interests such as rodeo, creek fishing, fly fishing, golfing, bowling and yoga. She found solace and joy in being outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature that she cherished deeply.
Known for her infectious laughter and radiant smile, Rosalind possessed a blend of qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Described as classy, witty, athletic, loving, and possessing an "old soul," she was a true role model whose wisdom and kindness left a lasting imprint on those around her.
Despite facing challenges towards the end of her life due to an Alzheimer's diagnosis, Rosalind remained resilient and continued to inspire others with her grace and strength. She took immense pride in many accomplishments throughout her life, but considered raising her daughter Hadley, alongside her former husband, Dave Berry, as her greatest blessing.
Rosalind is reunited in eternity with her father Albert Walbye, grandson Zaden Aldrich and uncle Jerry Langley. She leaves behind a life well lived full of love and cherished memories for her surviving family including: daughter Hadley Nave and son-in-law Derek Nave; grandchildren Caden, Jackson, and Millie; mother Earlene Walbye; sister Joan Evans (Robert); sister Jamie Gibson (Sam); nieces Emma, Tess, Sally and Layne Gibson; significant other Mark Millan; along with numerous other family members and friends who will continue to honor Rosalind's spirit through their shared memories.
