On May 20, 2025, the world lost a radiant light as Samantha Marie Pieper, lovingly known as Sammie, passed away while returning home from her sister’s graduation. Born on June 25, 1999, in Redding, California, Samantha lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication that touched everyone she met.
Sammie devoted the last four years of her life to being a caregiver for Visiting Angels. Her nurturing spirit and genuine affection for those she cared for were evident in the strong bonds she formed with her clients. Each day, she made it her mission to enhance the lives of others, showcasing her extraordinary ability to relate to people from all walks of life. Her clients cherished her, and many found solace in her warm presence and uplifting demeanor.
Beyond her remarkable career, Samantha was a vibrant soul with a myriad of interests. The beach was her sanctuary; she delighted in walking in the sand and playing in the water, soaking up the sun with joy. She loved camping and cherished the moments spent with her family, often taking charge of holiday cooking, where her giving nature shone through. Her passion for gift-giving during the holiday season was unparalleled—Sammie had an innate talent for finding the perfect gifts that made each recipient feel cherished and valued.
Samantha's creativity was expressed in myriad ways, from her colorful nail art—her last creation being a memorable Star Wars theme crafted just from her imagination—to her devotion to nurturing plants. She possessed an extraordinary green thumb, flourishing in her parents’ garden, where she cultivated vegetables and fruit with pride. Her love for reading took her on countless adventures, often finding herself lost in the aisles of Barnes & Noble, eagerly searching for her next favorite book.
Sammie was not only a wonderful caregiver but also a proud sister. She continually celebrated the accomplishments of her family, especially her sisters, Shelby and Paige. Samantha beamed with pride over Shelby's hard work and dedication at Pizza Hut, relishing the stories Shelby shared about her days at work. She was equally thrilled to cheer on Paige at her softball games, reveling in the excitement of travel and new places. When Paige earned a scholarship for her two years of study, followed by another scholarship in Iowa, Sam's heart swelled with pride and joy for her sister's accomplishments.
An exceptionally determined individual, Samantha faced her fears head-on, notably when she took on the challenge of learning to drive in her senior year of high school. The effort she put in culminated in one of her proudest moments—the day she graduated, a testament to her hard work and perseverance.
While Samantha leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and determination, she is joined in spirit with those who have gone before her: her beloved great-grandparents—Cecelia Mutchler, Kenneth Skeels, Jerry MacDonald, and Marcelline MacDonald. Their love and wisdom will undoubtedly continue to guide her loved ones in the days to come.
Samantha Marie Pieper’s light will forever illuminate the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a beloved daughter to Josh and Heather Pieper, and a cherished sister to Shelby and Paige Pieper. Her memory will continue to inspire love and compassion, reminding us all to embrace life wholeheartedly.
