Shariel J Broick

Shariel J Broick, lovingly known as Sherry, passed away peacefully at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on May 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with heart failure under hospice care. Born on May 20, 1939, in Clay, Kansas, Sherry lived a life rich in love, devotion, and the steadfast care of her family and home—a vocation that defined her and brought profound fulfillment.

Educated at St. Mary's School and High School, Sherry was an active participant in the 4H Club during her youth, where she distinguished herself by attending the National Conference to compete in sewing. This early passion for handiwork blossomed into a lifelong commitment to creating warmth and comfort within her household. Whether painstakingly crafting clothes for her children or filling the kitchen with preserves, pickled delights, and an array of jellies, Sherry’s hands were always busy nurturing those she loved. Among her cherished pastimes was tending to a thriving garden brimming with vegetables, including rhubarb and zucchini, which stood as a testament to her dedication and care.

Sherry’s life was not merely defined by her domestic accomplishments, though they were many and treasured. She was deeply social, a woman who loved people and reveled in the joy of meaningful conversation. This warmth extended beyond her home into vibrant participation in community activities—bowling leagues and pinnacle clubs were among her joys, and the adventures she shared with family on fishing and camping excursions created lasting memories that will be fondly recalled.

With an unerring sense of grace, Sherry was always impeccably groomed, never leaving the house without ensuring her hair was perfectly done and her lips adorned with lipstick. This attention to detail reflected the respect she held for herself and for those around her.

Among Sherry’s proudest accomplishments was the art of passing down her skills and passions. She took great pride in teaching her daughters to cook and sew, nurturing a heritage of practical knowledge and creativity. These lessons extended to her granddaughter Christy, whose own path as a stay-at-home mother was inspired and shaped by Sherry’s loving guidance.

Sherry is now reunited with her beloved husband, Richard Broick, and her parents, Velma and Ted Parks, as well as her sister, Betty Parks—souls who preceded her in death. She leaves behind a profound legacy embodied in her children Diane Winter, Julia Winter, Leslie Broick, and Richard Broick Jr., and their families. Her grandchildren Christie Knuteson, Kathryn LaComba, Erin Jobe, Alex Gunderman, Kyle Broick, and Kasey Broick, along with six great-grandchildren, carry forward her spirit and the enduring bonds she so lovingly fostered.

Shariel J Broick was a woman whose life was woven from the threads of dedication, kindness, and elegance. Her memory will remain a beacon of warmth and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her gentle strength and enduring love, she fashioned a true home—one filled not just with walls and possessions, but with heart, soul, and the timeless treasures of family.
