Sharon Michnick, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 16, 2025, at Polaris Care Center. She was born on Halloween Day, October 31, 1942, at St. Joseph Hospital in Menominee, Michigan, to Michael and Julia Michnick.

A visitation will be held at Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne on Sunday, May 11, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service on Monday, May 12, at 10:00 a.m. Sharon will be laid to rest at Pomona Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona, California, on Wednesday, May 14, at 9:00 a.m., where she will join her parents and eldest sister, Olga.

Sharon was the youngest of five siblings: Olga, Naida, Michael, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Julia, and her siblings Olga, Naida, and Thomas. Her brother Michael and his wife Charylne, who reside in Lawrence, Kansas, is the last surviving sibling. Sharon is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she followed in their growth and accomplishments.

Sharon began her education at Mellon Township Grade School across the road from her childhood home in the small town of Wallace, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She later completed grade school and high school in Laramie, Wyoming, graduating from University High School on May 25, 1960. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming College of Education on August 21, 1964.

Sharon devoted her entire 31-year teaching career to Buffalo Ridge Elementary School in Cheyenne, where she taught fifth grade from 1964 until her retirement in 1995. She took pride in her profession, earning a reputation for skilled classroom management and a deep commitment to her students' success. Her students consistently thrived under her guidance and entered the next stage of their education well prepared.

Sharon will be remembered for her dedication to teaching and was once honored as Teacher of the Year. She helped shape many young lives with her strong sense of responsibility, and her quiet influence. She was involved in community functions like Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and  contributed nearly five gallons of life saving blood donations.
