Shirley Lou Treusch, born on September 21, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, was a beacon of kindness and strength throughout her life. She departed this world on July 28, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of family and friends.
Shirley began her professional journey immediately after high school as a phone operator at Texas Instruments. Following her marriage and the joys of motherhood, she relocated to Cheyenne, where she found fulfillment working at a grocery store before embracing her role as a nutritionist. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to others, notably achieving a remarkable 15 years at the hospital, a testament to her unwavering commitment and nurturing spirit. She was known for generously saving money for her grandchildren, even when resources were tight, making her a true matriarch in every sense of the word.
As a mother, Shirley was a guiding light. She cherished her role, often taking on the responsibility of raising her children on her own. Every Sunday, she lovingly insisted that her children dress up and attend church together, instilling in them values of faith and community. Her home was a sanctuary filled with giggles, warmth, and boundless love. Friends and family recognized her as a beautiful and kind woman, who opened her heart not just to her own children but to many, serving as a surrogate mother to those in need.
A devoted fan of Elvis Presley, vigilant about her weekly dose of "Walker Texas Ranger," and enchanted by the stories in "Little House on the Prairie," Shirley's passions defined her joyful spirit. She found tranquility in the simple beauty of lilacs and the innocence of babies, drawing happiness from life's little wonders.
The love she shared extended beyond her immediate family. Shirley is survived by her beloved children: Teresa Johnson, Clifford Springstead, John Springstead, Michelle Clark, and Wayne Clark. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, and even celebrated the arrival of one great-great-grandchild. Her laughter and love will echo in their lives as a constant reminder of her strength and compassion.
Shirley now joins her late husband, Giles Springstead, in eternal rest, alongside her mother, Margaret; her birth mother, Joyce; and her father, Clair Brown. Their memories will be forever cherished by those who knew her, and her spirit will live on through the many lives she has touched.
In Shirley Lou Treusch, we remember a remarkable woman who embodied grace, love, and unwavering resilience. We honor her life, her love, and her legacy—a legacy that will continue to shine brightly for generations to come.
