Steven Rogers Shockley, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Born on November 30, 1945, Steven lived a life defined by his deep faith, love for family, and service to others. Steven proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He later built a long and dedicated career working for the railroad, where he was respected for his reliability and work ethic, and where he formed lasting friendships. When he wasn’t working, Steven could often be found enjoying a round of golf, delighting in the beauty of the game and the fellowship it brought. More than anything, his greatest joy was sharing the love and salvation of Jesus Christ with those around him. His life reflected the grace, humility, and compassion of his Savior.
Steven was a devoted husband to his wife, JackO'lynn (Jackie) Shockley, a cherished brother to Virginia Sleesman, and a beloved uncle and great-uncle who held a special place in the hearts of his family.
He was preceded in death by his Parents Alfred and Beautis Shokley, older brother, Roy Shockley, and his nephew, Michael Shockley, whose memories he carried with him always.
Those who knew Steven remember him for his warm smile, encouraging spirit, and unwavering faith. He lived each day with gratitude and a readiness to help others, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire.
A service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Destiny Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Steven will be deeply missed, but his light will shine on through the many lives he touched
