Sylvia Sias was born on February 28, 1939 in Durango, Mexico to Tranquilino and Maria Nevarez. She was the only girl born into a family of 3 boys.

She met the love of her life, Elias Sias, in Texas and they married on March 25,1956 before moving to Colorado. Together they had 4 wonderful children. Unfortunately, their oldest son, Juanito Sias, died at the age of 3 months old. Over the course of her life, she held many jobs aside from caring for her children. In her younger years she traveled, working farm fields throughout the seasons. She and her husband also pastored churches in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado. She was a strong woman of faith and held to her convictions. They settled in Pueblo, Colorado for a time and managed a Motel with their children. Some years later, they moved and settled in Longmont Colorado. Sylvia then began work as a laborer at Longmont Foods Turkey Plant. She worked there for several years and later retired from the Plant. After she retired, Sylvia became a stay at home wife. She enjoyed cooking, whether it be dinners or taking tamale orders and making them every week. She loved going out early Friday and Saturday mornings to many yard sales around town. She was a bargain shopper and could never pass up a good deal. She also loved to have garage sales of her own. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and was part of a bowling league. She also liked to sew and crochet, outdoor gardening and taking care of houseplants. When she became a great grandma she enjoyed the simplicity of being around family and spending time with the great grandkids.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents Tranquilino and Maria Nevarez, her husband Elias Sias, 2 brothers Abdon and Jose Nevarez, both sons Juanito and Joe Sias, her son in-law Paul Jones and grandson Evans Jones. Sylvia is survived by her brother Mel, her 2 daughters Margarita Sias, Lupe and Ike Hasenauer. Her grandchildren; Nicole and Vincente Lopez, Annette and Dominic Benintende, Chris and Keara Sias, Alexis and Leonel Montes, CJ and Serena Earhart, Shannon Blakey, Elijah Hasenauer, Tracie Hays, Shayleen and Vincent Marroti, Luana Jones, great grandchildren; Valeria Montes, Cambria and Leif Benintende, Konstance and Hunter Sias, Lilah and Zekhi Sias, Raenell and Shane Blackwood, Emma and Cooper Earhart, Joseph and Haily Barger, Kenneth Sanchez and Raiana Blackwater, and one great great grandgirl Imani Samari Blackwood.
