It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theodore A. Pederson (Ted), who died peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 85. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Theodore was a man of strength, integrity, and deep compassion.
Ted was born on March 22, 1940, in Steele County, North Dakota. He was shaped by the values of rural life—hard work and close community ties—which he carried with him throughout his life. He built a legacy grounded in kindness and dependability, touching the lives of many through his actions and presence.
Over the years, Ted had a varied career, starting with Burroughs Corporation and ending at Tenvoorde Ford in St. Cloud MN. Along the way, he worked at Dakota Hospital and owned several Mister Donut shops. Ted was respected for his dedication and character. Outside of work, he found joy in wood working, gardening, singing and playing cards. He loved his lake home on Lake Ida and grew to love the desert during his nearly 20 years in Palm Desert.
He is survived by Arlene, his wife, of 65 years, son Jeff (Shannon) and daughter Jana Moe (Ted), as well as grandchildren Erik Pederson and Abby Pederson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Theodore A. Pederson will be remembered for his timely phone calls to check in on friends and family and the steady presence he provided to all who were fortunate to know him.
