Born: January 22, 1931 Died: October 29, 2010 Services: Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Father Steve Titus officiating. Interment will be in Beth El Cemetery. Visitation: Visitation will be Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thomas W. Ferguson of Cheyenne passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Windsor, Colorado. He was 79 years old. Thomas Winston Ferguson was born January 22, 1931 in Tuskegee, Alabama, the son of Clarence and Zettie May (Downing) Ferguson. He joined the United States Air Force and served our country faithfully as a Special Forces Officer. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. Thomas married the love of his life, Sylvia Charlotte Hisek, in August of 1952 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He loved all sports and was very athletic. He played semi-pro baseball for the Yankee’s, boxed in the service, played fast pitch softball, bowled and golfed. You name it, he played it. Thomas was also a devoted member of the moose lodge. Thomas will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his children, Sylvia Anne Rife of Pocatello, Idaho, Kathy Higgins of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Robert Ferguson of Wright, Wyoming and Gail Christmann of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He is survived by four sisters, Helen Gordon, Hazel Tomkowski, Anne Smith and Polly Ferguson, all of Alabama. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Zettie Ferguson, his wife, Sylvia Ferguson, a son, Randy Ferguson and 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
