Thomas Garris

Thom Garris, 69, of Cheyenne died peacefully in Cheyenne on December 7, 2023. 

Thom was born to Hugh and Rebecca Kerns Garris in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 8, 1954.  He was predeceased by them and by an older brother, Mack Garris.  

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Allen, their cats Amy and Emily, all of Cheyenne, and sister, Camille Arriggi of North Carolina. 

Thom worked as a land surveyor in North Carolina and for Boeing in Everett, Washington as an airplane mechanic.  He moved  to Cheyenne in 1991 after finding that he loved both its people and its weather.   

Thom was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed both leading and participating in book discussions. 

A lifelong Presbyterian, Thom’s funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Bob Thomson at the First Presbyterian Church of Cheyenne at 10 a.m. Friday, December 15 with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish  may donate to Thom’s favorite charity, Planned Parenthood, or other charity of their choice.
