A Vigil for the Deceased will be held 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss Celebrating. Interment will take place in Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Tomas I. Pacheco, 71, of Cheyenne died Sunday August 1, 2010 at his home. He was born December 21, 1938 in Arroyo Seco, NM to Jose Luis and Rosa (Duran) Pacheco. On January 7, 1957, he married Nellie E. Tafoya in Rancho de Taos, NM. He was a heavy equipment operator and a welder. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was very active in coaching boxing and was a member of Wyoming Amateur Boxing Club, the Cheyenne Boxing Club since 1976. He participated with the USA Olympic Boxing In Colorado Springs, CO. He was also a member of Holy Face Society, Blue Army Prayer Group, Blessed Sacrament Adorer of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wendy’s Harmonica Club, Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer member, USA Boxing Level 4 International Coach, Cursillo Movement, Hispanic Amateur Boxing Assn.. he received the following awards, 1996 Cheyenne’s Latino Citizen of the Year, 2004 Governor’s Award for Excellence, 2006 Best Developmental Coach of the Year in the USA. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie Pacheco; children, Liz Pacheco of Aurora, CO, Peggy Lucero of Cheyenne, John R. Pacheco of Cheyenne, Tomas E. Pacheco of Cheyenne, and Catherine Pacheco of Cheyenne; 12grandchildren,Taleisha E. Scott of Hawaii, Phillip Smith, Michael Smith, Jr, and Nicholas Smith of Aurora, CO, Daniel Lucero and Tomas Lucero of Cheyenne, Aaron Pacheco, Desiree Pacheco and Isaac Pacheco of Cheyenne, Colton Lee, Tanner Lee and Brenna Pacheco of Cheyenne, 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Jr. of Aurora, CO, Alex Lucero of Cheyenne, Dontae Williams of Cheyenne, Aaron Pacheco, Jr. of Cheyenne, and Anthony Smith of Aurora, CO; sisters, Nina Pacheco of Arroyo Seco, NM, Mace Valencia of Arroyo Seco, NM ;brothers, Leo Pacheco of Arroyo Seco, NM and Palemon Pacheco of Arroyo Seco. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas John Pacheco; his parents, Jose L. and Rosa Pacheco; brothers Jose Luis Pacheco, Jr. and Eduardo Pacheco.
