Our beloved Mom, Granny, Wife, Aunt, and friend, Valerie Leffe, left this realm on February 23, 2024 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 23, 1944 to William and Mary Inskeep, and was later adopted with her sister, Stefany, by Russel and Anne Fuller. She grew up between Salem, Oregon and San Francisco, California.
Valerie loved her dogs, quilting, and the outdoors. She and her husband Jack, bounced around the country like nomads after retirement. Initially living on a sailboat in the San Francisco Bay, and later moving into their camper trailer to be camp site hosts in California and Wyoming. After moving to North Carolina to be close to family for several years, they finally settled in Cheyenne in 2018.
Valerie is survived by her husband Jack Leffe, daughters Tamera Burke (Gary) and Tracy Lawson (Paul), and her son Fred Newton, bonus daughters Cherie Goldsmith (Scott) and Suzette Christianson (Dan), grandchildren Megan, Jesse, Dakota, Sadie, Casey, Anthony, Colton and DJ, and nieces Laura, Lisa, and Lynda. She is now spiritually reunited with her biological and adoptive parents, her sister Stefany, and more dogs than we could begin to name, that we're certain were all there to greet her when she arrived.
Per Valerie's wishes, no services will be held. If you feel moved to do so, please consider donating to your favorite no-kill animal shelter or to Alzheimer's research in her honor.
