Mrs. Veva A. (Brown) Brolyer, 88, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Burns, Wyoming, passed away early Thursday morning, December 23, 2010, at the Cheyenne Healthcare Center. Mrs. Brolyer was born June 22, 1922, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, a daughter of the late John R. and Alma (Andrews) Brown. Veva was a graduate of Broken Bow High School and in 1941, she married Edwin “Ike” H. Brolyer, living in the sand hills of Nebraska until moving to Burns where they lived for 41 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker where she cared for her three children and her husband. Her other interests included quilting, embroidery, gardening, canning vegetables and tending to her yard and flowers. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and sports activities, and sharing the holidays with her family and making her unforgettable Christmas candy. Veva is survived by son, Charles Brolyer and wife, Lynne, of Tucson, AZ, son, Ed Brolyer and wife, Cheryl, of Cheyenne, and daughter, Wanda Moore and husband, Jon, of Albin, WY; grandchildren, Wendy (Micah) Briggs of Tucson, AZ, Adam Brolyer of Tucson, AZ, Christy (Chad) Mestel of Lenexa, KS, Justin (April) Brolyer of Fort Collins, CO, Katie Moore of Laramie, Alan Moore of Cheyenne, and Rebecca (Dan) Hyatt of Douglas; and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Edwin “Ike” Brolyer; and her sister, Anna Johnson. Visitation will be private. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with a memorial service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Pastor Donald Blomberg officiating. A reception will be held at the Schrader Reception Facility immediately following the memorial service. Pallbearers will be Justin Brolyer, Alan Moore, Adam Brolyer, Micah Briggs, Dan Hyatt and Chad Mestel. Expressions of sympathy in Veva’s memory may be made to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation, 214 East 23rd Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
