Waltrina Watson Asche

Waltrina "Trina" Watson Halamka Asche completed her earthly journey on September 19, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1941, in El Paso, Texas, to John R. Watson and Julia A. ("Judy") Pritchett Watson. She passed away in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the Davis Hospice Center. Trina was the oldest of three girls and was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother John R. Watson III, and her youngest sister Barbara Links. She is survived by her children Franklyn Elliot Halamka (Lisa) and Triana Ann Halamka Burrill (Dave), four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Nana Wilson (John), five nieces and nephews, and countless others who loved her and called her "Grandma Trina."

Waltrina always considered herself a Texan and cherished the rich heritage of her ancestry. Both her parents' families settled in Texas prior to the Civil War. In later years, she took special joy in discovering more about her family's history.

Trina graduated from Grossmont High School in El Cajon, California. She began nursing school and worked for a time as a "candy striper" and nurse’s aide at the Motion Picture Hospital. Trina married Frank Karél Halamka on December 31, 1961. This union brought forth her two children, Franklyn and Triana. Later she was married to Fred Asche from 1976 to 1982. While her children were growing up, Trina worked in various fields, finally settling into the home care industry in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. After retirement, she became a well-known Pampered Chef consultant in the Torrington, Wyoming area.

Throughout her life, one of her greatest gifts was her servant's heart. She was always ready to help anyone in need, no matter the time or cost. Her greatest desire was to serve others and lighten their burdens.

Waltrina loved her church family and studying Scripture, participating in several Bible studies. She enjoyed sewing, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, visiting with friends, and most of all, keeping up with her family's lives, no matter where they were. Listening to Southern Gospel Music was another passion; she said it reminded her of the time in her life when she came to know Jesus.

Services for Waltrina will be held at Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church, 7006 N. College Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82009 on October 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A light lunch will follow.
