Wendell William Jackson Sr., age 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on May 13, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on February 1, 1950, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Wendell attended the University of Wyoming and worked for some years as an Industrial Field Services Supervisor in the oil and gas industry. Wendell was known for his intelligence, athletic ability, love of music, avid sports fan with a true love for the Denver Broncos, family, lavish parties, fishing, and legendary citywide barbecues.

Wendell is survived by his spouse, Faye Jackson; His brothers J’Van Jackson and Wallace Jackson, children, Dionne Jordan and Karen Johnson; stepchildren, Shawn Lawson, Nikki Lawson, Jerry Woods, Jeremy Woods, and Kenya Lawson; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J’Van and Vera Jackson; sisters, Crystal, Starr, and Gwenellan; brother, Vernell; daughter, Tonya; and son, Wendell Jr.

The Funeral will be held at Schrader’s in Cheyenne. (Viewing at 3:00 PM) funeral at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026. A repast will follow at Second Baptist Church at 6:00 PM.
