William “Butch” Edward McBride was born in Bridgeton, NJ on December 8th, 1951 to Edward and Helen (Nyce) McBride. Butch served in the United States Air Force from 1972-1975 as an avionic communications specialist and achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Butch was endowed by his Creator with exceptional gifts for electronics and he used those gifts to serve his God in various occupations that involved especially radio engineering. Butch also enjoyed talking and would talk with anyone who would listen. Butch was an avid reader, enjoyed learning, and had a wealth of knowledge about many subjects. He also enjoyed making people laugh and loved sharing his humor. He spent time doing mission work on the Island of Guam setting up radio towers for Christian radio broadcasting.
His greatest passion in life was his ardent faith in his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He enjoyed studying all of the Bible, but enjoyed especially studying the Old Testament and apologetics.
Butch was not in good health for the last several years of his life. During these difficult years the Lord spoke to him repeatedly through his Word and nourished his faith with his Holy Supper.
On July 18, 2025, at Davis Hospice, the Savior who does all things will, called his tired son to the place he had prepared for him with his perfect life and innocent death in our place.
“To him who loved us and washed us from our sins in his blood, be honor and power now and forever. Amen.”
A Christian funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, WY
Burial will be at the Cheyenne National Cemetery.
