Yandel Andres
Gonzalez
Apr 14, 2011 — Jul 11, 2026
The family of Yandel Andres Gonzalez, age 15, is deeply saddened to share that he passed away on July 11, 2026. Born on April 14, 2011, in New Mexico, Yandel moved with his family from Texas and Greeley to Cheyenne in 2019, where he quickly became known as a friendly, loving, and fiercely loyal young man.
Yandel lived life with the heart of an athlete. If he wasn’t on the court, he was on the field; if he wasn’t on the field, he was on the mat or in the ring. He poured himself into basketball, football, wrestling, and boxing, always pushing to be better, faster, stronger. His dedication showed in every practice, every game, every match.
He also loved to ride — whether it was hopping on a bicycle to cruise around the neighborhood or jumping on a motorcycle to feel the wind and freedom of the open road. Riding with friends and family was one of his happiest places, a way he connected, laughed, and lived fully in the moment.
He proudly represented South Side Sluggers Boxing Club, where he trained with discipline and passion. He played sports for Johnson Junior High and South High School, earning respect from teammates, coaches, and everyone who watched him compete. Sports weren’t just something he did — they were who he was.
But Yandel’s greatest strength wasn’t just athletic. It was his heart. He was motivated by his family and friends, always showing up for the people he loved. Supportive, protective, and full of life, he had a way of making others feel safe and seen. He was the kind of teen who could hype you up, make you laugh, and stand by you when you needed someone.
Yandel was a son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, and his impact stretches far beyond the sports he played. He is survived by his parents, Isabeth Rodriguez and Vicente Gonzalez, along with countless relatives, teammates, and friends who will forever carry his memory.
A memorial service honoring Yandel’s life will be held at Cheyenne Hills Church on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow immediately at the barn across the way until 6:00 PM, where family, friends, and teammates are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a young man whose spirit will never fade.
Yandel’s legacy lives on in every game played with heart, every teammate supported, and every moment lived with courage.
