Donald Williams

March 28, 1939 — November 13, 2019

Donald Eugene Williams, 80, was born on March 28, 1939 in Cheyenne where he resided for his entire adult life.  He passed away at his home on November 13, 2019.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Homer Williams and Rilla Dorleska (Archibald ) Williams, and his siblings, Richard Williams and Gwen Hall.  Don is survived by his loving wife, Danna (Bird) Williams of 60 years; three daughters, Jenny Williams, Linda Scharwath (Ronald) and Patricia Mason (Roger); seven grandchildren, Alisa Grooms (Robert), Robert Scharwath (Ashlyn), Jeffrey Sutter (Erin), Matthew Scharwath (Hannah), Connor Mason, Tyler Mason, and Ruby Mason; and eight great-grandchildren, Nolan, Garrett, Lincoln, Wyatt, Colby, MacKensie, Drake and Cole.

Don was an avid auto enthusiast and owned Monks Auto Upholstery and Glass.    He later retired as a Farmers Insurance agent in 2007.  He served as Cheyenne City Councilman, was active in the Lions Club for 50 years, serving a term of president and was “tail twister”.  He played guitar and banjo and was a founding father of the Chugwater Philharmonic, and member of the Cheyenne Guitar Society and UW Cowboy Joe Club.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Schrader Reception Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or Cheyenne Lions Club.
