Edward Turner

Edward M. Turner, 80, of Cheyenne passed away January 23, 2020, at Davis Hospice Center.

He was born April 17, 1939, in Greeley, CO, to Clifford and Marianna (Gooch) Turner. He graduated high school in Wathena, Kansas, excelling in basketball and track.  He attended Tulane University as a National Merit Scholar, receiving his bachelor degree in mathematics with a history emphasis.  He also received his Master’s degree in mathematics.

He married Pauline Nichols, and they had three children, Diana, Philip, and Barbara.  After his divorce, he married Charlene Hatten.  He divorced and married Sonja Sundem Plank on August 3, 1973, in Seattle. They had two children, Marie and Michael.  Ed was a hearing aid specialist, owning Wyoming Hearing Aid Counselors.  He was a member of Cheyenne Hill Hoppers Club and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sonja Turner, of Cheyenne; children, Diana (Kevin) Kinney of Lake Stevens, WA, Philip Turner of Arlington, WA, Barbara Espejo of Kirkland, WA, Marie Turner (Michael Coppola) of Fort Collins and Michael Turner (Jess Miller) of Fort Collins; grandchildren from first marriage, Ryan and Bryce Kinney, Kirsten and Blake Turner; and second marriage, Wren Turner-Coppola; and five great-grandchildren.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Turner.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A private gathering will be held.
