Jesse Fish

May 14, 1937 — August 22, 2020

Jesse Fish died peacefully August 22, 2020, with his loving wife of 40 years, Deloris, near him.

Jesse was born on May 14, 1937 and raised on a farm in Maryville, Missouri.  He could tell you stories of growing up on a farm and especially enjoyed his teen years of riding around the dirt roads.

As an adult, his career of choice was truck driving. The early years he worked sleeper teams nationally.  As he was unloading a truck in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jesse decided he would like to live there, thus his adult residence being in Cheyenne.  He later worked for and retired from Ward Transport; driving nationally and finally locally.

He met the love of his, Deloris (Debbie) Jean McVicker years and years ago.  They were married in June, 1980 and spent 40 years making each other laugh.

The “Great White Hunter” is what we called him and you never planned anything in October as he spent that month at elk camp.  Momma thought she was a widow during hunting season. He loved the hunt and his time spent in comradery with his hunting buddies.  …….and oh the tales and the truths you would hear.

Jesse’s was an avid gunsmith and spent many years smithing for Cheyenne Trading Post. He had a passion for this trade, as well as hobby and many people trusted him for over thirty plus years with their rifles.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris of Cheyenne;  daughter, Marcia; his son, Donald of Missouri;  daughter, Tami French of Washington; daughter, Tracy Gromley (Tom) of Missouri. He also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19, no funeral will be planned.
